    1717The computing grid has been setup for users to be able to analyse very large genetic data sets. A grid of computers is essentially a number of computers linked together by a common management software controller. The management software delegates how the job requests should be handled by the computer resources.
    18 Currently our grid consists of 40 cores and more than 190 GB of RAM. In addition we have also created a "super computer" by connected together all the Macintosh computers in our building. The combined resources of this "SP" is 32 cores and more than 40 GB of RAM.
